MARIPOSA URANIA FULGENS

Esta bella mariposa, es clasificada como Polilla (moth) por la biología.

Tiene una fuerza increíble porque puede volar desde Centro América (Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panamá) hasta el Ecuador, pasando por Colombia.

En Medellín han pasado al final de agosto y comienzos de septiembre DE 2016 y han tomado néctar del árbol “Suribio”. Este lindo árbol se llena de flores de color rosado, y las ramas parecen nieve rosada. Son un espectáculo. Y miles de Uranias se alimentaron de estos árboles en el barrio Laureles, y en otras partes de Medellín y de Colombia.

Yo quiero que muchas personas en el mundo puedan saber de las maravillas de la migración de las Uranias y su vuelo por Colombia.

El nombre cientifico del árbol es Zygia Longifolia

This beautiful butterfly is classified as moth (moth) by biology.

It has incredible strength because it can fly from Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama) to Ecuador, through Colombia.

In Medellin they have crossed at the end of August and beginning September in 2016 and they  have drank nectar from the tree «Suribio». This cute tree was full of pink flowers, and their branches appear like pink snow. They are spectacular. And thousands of Uranias fed on these trees in the Laureles neighborhood, and in other parts of Medellin and Colombia.

I want that many people around the world may know about the wonderful migrations Uranias have, and their flight  in Colombia.

The technical name of this tree is  Zygia Longifolia
